Stewart, a junior from Plano, Texas, has achieved a grade point average of 3.91 as an accounting major at UALR.

“Marsha once again deserves this honor,” said UALR soccer coach Greg Hess. “I saw her academic achievement in high school" where she earned a 4.0 GPA at Plano (Texas) West High School, "and I knew that she would do just as well at UALR.

Besides collecting academic awards, Stewart has also been recognized for her play on the soccer field. During her sophomore season, Stewart was named second team All-Sun Belt Conference, and was the 2002 Sun Belt Conference Freshman of the Yea. Stewart ranks second in UALR record books in career goalkeeper minutes and is third in career saves.

"Marsha is a great player, and her attitude and work ethic on the field has carried over into the classroom," Hess said.

The Academic All-District awards are voted on by members of the College Sports Information Directors of America.
