Stewart again earns academic kudos

UALR goalkeeper
Marsha Stewart has been named second-team Academic-All District for the
second consecutive year. .
Stewart, a junior
from Plano, Texas, has achieved a grade
point average of 3.91 as an accounting major at UALR.
“Marsha once again
deserves this honor,” said UALR soccer coach Greg Hess. “I saw her
academic achievement in high school" where she earned a 4.0 GPA at Plano
(Texas) West High School, "and I knew that she would do just as well at
UALR.
Besides collecting
academic awards, Stewart has also been recognized for her play on the
soccer field. During her sophomore season, Stewart was named second team
All-Sun Belt Conference, and was the 2002 Sun
Belt Conference Freshman of the Yea. Stewart ranks second in UALR record
books in career goalkeeper minutes and is third in career saves.
"Marsha is a great
player, and her attitude and work ethic on the field has carried over into
the classroom," Hess said.
The Academic
All-District awards are voted on by members of the
College Sports Information Directors of America.
