KANSAS CITY, Kan. - The UALR soccer team has been honored by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America with the 2011 NSCAA Team Academic Award, it was recently announced. The Trojans posted a team grade point average of 3.25 for the 2010-11 academic year to receive their third straight honor.
The NSCAA is the largest soccer coaches organization in the world. In addition to a national rankings program for colleges and high schools, NSCAA offers an extensive recognition program that presents nearly 10,000 individual awards every year. The national coaches governing body annually hands out the academic honor to schools whose team GPA is 3.0 or higher.
A total of 571 women's soccer teams posted a team GPA of 3.0 or higher, thereby earning the NSCAA Team Academic Award for the 2010-11 academic year.
In addition to being recognized following the 2008-09 and 2009-10 academic years, the UALR soccer team was previously recognized in the 1997-98 and 1998-99 academic years.
