LITTLE
ROCK, Ark.—The UALR volleyball team earned the American Volleyball
Coaches Association Team Academic Award.
The Trojans boasted a 3.59 cumulative grade point average for the 2010-11
season and was one of 92 Division I teams honored.
UALR was one of five Sun
Belt Conference institutions to earn the honor and one of two Division I
institutions from the state of Arkansas.
The AVCA Team Academic
Award was initiated in the 1992-93 academic year and honors collegiate and high
school volleyball teams that maintain at least a 3.30 cumulative team grade
point average on a 4.0 scale or a 4.10 cumulative team GPA on a 5.0 scale.
