LITTLE ROCK, Ark.—The UALR cross country program received United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association Division I All-Academic Team for both teams as the men's team earned the honor announced today. The Trojans boasted a 3.04 cumulative grade point average.
UALR was one of 147 institutions honored and only one of two Sun Belt Conference institutions to receive the honor.
The Trojans finished strong in the 2011 season placing second at the Sun Belt Championships and ninth at the NCAA South Central Regional.
To qualify as a USTFCCCA All-Academic Cross Country Team, a team must have recorded a cumulative grade point average of 3.00 or better and have started at least five participants at their respective NCAA regional championship.
