LITTLE ROCK – Senior Edina Begic was named to the Academic All-District Second Team by the Capital One Academic All-America program on Thursday morning. This is Begic's second time being named to an Academic All-District team.
Begic is one of two Sun Belt players to win Academic All-District honors with the other being Georgia Southern's Kym Coley.
Begic is majoring in international business, and the senior sports a 3.71 GPA. She has been named to the UALR Chancellor's List three times and the Dean's List seven times.
Begic is the active career kills leader in NCAA Division I volleyball and UALR's all-time kills leader with 1,992.
Begic's other accolades include being the reigning two-time SBC Offensive Player of the Year, claiming thee-time All-Sun Belt Team recognition, earning SBC Offensive Player of the Week awards 15 times, and being the 2011 SBC Freshman of the Year. She also ranks in the UALR top 10 in 17 categories.
