Stina Resen set a new program record by firing a 6-under 66 in round one of the Ron Moore Intercollegiate at Highland Springs Golf Course. Resen will enter the second round tied for second place.
Resen's school-record 66 bested Sara Wikstrom's previous low round of 67. Wikstrom recorded two rounds of 67 in her career, once during the 2007 Jeannine McHaney Intercollegiate and again in the 2009 Sun Belt Conference Tournament.
The Little Rock women's golf team is tied for third place through one round. The Trojans are tied with Washington State at 3-under 285 through 18 holes. San Francisco is tied with host Denver for the lead at 6-under 282. North Dakota State is alone in fifth place at 1-over 289.
Resen will enter the second round just a shot back of the leader, Ayaka Suzuki of San Francisco (-7). Resen is tied with Denver's Jessica Carty at 6 under par.
Little Rock's
Hannah Ward is tied for sixth after a 3-under 69 in round one. Ward's 69 is a new personal best.
Pernille Orlien is tied for 37
th overall following a 2-over 74.
Sabrina Bonanno carded a 4-over 76 on Friday to round out the Trojans' scoring.
Play will resume with a shotgun start on Saturday at 8:30 a.m.
