Â
What made you want to attend the University of Arkansas at Little Rock? This was one of the first schools to recruit me. Coach D (Associate Head Coach
Robert Dallimore) recruited me heavily, and I enjoyed talking to him a lot. He was one of the main reasons why I came to this school.
Â
What's the best part of being a Trojan? The best part of being a Trojan is the love we get from our fans. Especially the people who travel to road games. I really appreciate them because they give us motivation to do better.
What's something most people don't know about you?I love to help people. I don't like to see people sad. If I see a homeless person, I'll give them money. And I like to volunteer at homeless shelters.
Â
What's the earliest memory you have of playing basketball? In elementary school. My coach was my friend's dad, and we were real young. I was on a team with my sister. And then I quit to be a cheerleader because I always wanted to be a cheerleader. When I went to middle school, I wanted to be a cheerleader again. But when I went to high school, it all got serious for me in basketball.
Â
What's the best advice you've received? That basketball is mostly mental. You might think it's so physical. And it is physical. But basketball is mostly mental. My coaches told me that, and then I've experienced it myself.
Who is your childhood hero?My mom because she does everything for me. She motivates me, she takes care of me and she is just basically the love of my life.
Â
What advice would you give to children just getting started in athletics?Start early if this is what you really want to do. Go hard at it from the beginning. Don't wait until you're in high school. If this is what you really want to do, work hard and don't slack off.
Â
What's the best reason people should attend your team's games? We want people to attend our games because we work hard, and I feel like they would get a better understanding of us if they see us play. Most people just come to the game to see a game, but there's a lot more preparation involved for us. There's a lot of long hours, a lot of sweat and even tears.
