George Trujillo and
Linus Yip will join former Trojan
Johann Voss in a pair of national amateur championships in the coming week.

Yip will compete in the Australian Amateur Championship while Trujillo and Voss will compete at the Latin American Amateur Championship.

Yip, a sophomore, competed in one event for Little Rock in the 2015 fall season. He posted three top-25 finishes and one top-five finish as a freshman in 2014-15.

The Australian Amateur Championship will be played Jan. 12-17 at Metropolitan Golf Course and Peninsula-Kingswood Country Golf Club. Following a 36-hole stroke-play qualifying at the two courses, 32 players will qualify for elimination match play.

Trujillo, a junior in his first season with the Trojans, was Little Rock's top finisher in three of five fall events. He earned three top-10 finishes including a third-place finish at the Fall Beach Classic in Gulf Shores, Ala., to close the fall season.

Voss was a 2015 Honorable Mention All-Sun Belt performer who competed in 11 events as a senior in 2014-15. He compiled three top-10 finishes as a senior.

The Latin American Championship will be played at Casa De Campo's Teeth of Dog course in the Dominican Republic. It is a stroke-play event played over 72 holes, with a cut for the leading 50 players plus ties after 36 holes. The champion will receive an invitation to the 2016 Masters Tournament, an exemption into The Amateur Championship and an exemption into the U.S. Amateur Championship and any other USGA amateur championship for which he is eligible.

The champion and runner-up will receive an exemption into Open Qualifying Series – Final Qualifying, held in July in the United Kingdom with an opportunity to earn a place in The Open Championship 2016 at Royal Troon. They will also receive an exemption into the final stage qualifying for the U.S. Open with an opportunity to earn a place in the 2016 U.S. Open at Oakmont Country Club.
