Trojan Women Compete at Chile Pepper Festival

FAYETTEVILLE – Hunter Paul led the way for the Trojan women once again at the Chile Pepper Festival on Saturday morning.
 
Paul scored 91 points with her finish, running the 5K distance in 19:11.1 in a highly competitive field that included Arkansas, Missouri, TCU, Wichita State, Texas Tech and North Texas among others.
 
Following closely behind Paul was Adela Hernandez, who ran the distance in 19:23.99 for 10th points. Sara Claycomb was the third Trojan across the finish line, taking 113 points with a time of 19:56.4.
 
Tyler Kelly finished with 117 points in 20:18.89, and Jasmine Blunt was the final Trojan scorer with 118 points in 20:24.9. Newcomer Keishona Searles finished the race in 22:06.62, and Akeia Joyner clocked in with a time of 22:14.01.
 
As a team, Little Rock placed 18th with 543 points.
 
The Trojans have next weekend off before returning to action at the Little Rock Invitational on October 15 at the Rebsamen Golf Course.
