LITTLE ROCK –
Sara Claycomb placed ninth overall to lead the Trojan cross country team at the Little Rock Invitational at Rebsamen Golf Course on Saturday morning.

Claycomb's time on the 5K course was 19:36.8, 20 seconds faster than she performed at the Chile Pepper Festival two weeks ago. Claycomb was the third Trojan runner for the first half of the race, but she moved up throughout the five kilometers to finish in ninth overall.

Behind Claycomb was teammate
Adela Hernandez, who ran her final Little Rock Invitational in a time of 20:01.7 for fifth place.
Tyler Kelly was next for the Trojans, taking 26th in 21:00.8.

Kieshona Searles was the fourth Trojan runner to finish, taking 39th in 22:18.0.
Akeia Joyner completed the team's scoring efforts with a time of 22:34.8.

The Trojan women took third place among Division I schools, scoring 76 points.

Saturday's race was the Trojans' final regular-season race of the year. The team now has two weeks to prepare for the Sun Belt Conference Championship, set for October 29 in Dothan, Alabama.
