Five Questions: Brandon Brady

LITTLE ROCK – Brandon Brady joins the Little Rock men's basketball team after serving as a student manager during the 2015-16 season. Brady played high school basketball at Pulaski Academy before spending time at Lyon College and Eastern Oklahoma State as a student-athlete.

As a senior at Pulaski Academy, Brady earned First Team All-Conference and All-State honors after averaging 23 points, six rebounds, five assists and three steals. Off the court, he was an honor roll student with a 3.5 GPA.

What's your earliest memory of playing basketball?

I remember being three years old and I would play with my two older brothers. I used to watch them before I started actually playing. My dad had his own team, too, so I used to sit on the sideline in a little jersey and cheer them on. Eventually my dad let me start playing when I got a little older.

Last year you were a student manager on the team, what was that experience like for you?

It was a really good learning experience. I had to sit out, but I still got to learn how everything works at the Division I level. I learned exactly what practices are like, and how intense things are. I got to see the older guys and what they've gone through and it helped me a lot going into this year.

This year will be your first season at the Division I level. What are your expectations for yourself?

My expectations for myself are to play really hard and get the system down. I really just want to be efficient.

You went to high school in Little Rock. What was it like seeing all of the success last year and the way the city rallied around the team? Have you ever seen that within this basketball program before?

No, I had never seen anything like that before. People always tell me how proud they are of Little Rock, and they're really starting to support the team. It's really exciting to try to keep that going with next season!

What are you most excited for about this upcoming season?

Experiencing the full season. Last year I had to sit out, so I won't take the games or practices for granted this year. I don't know how many seasons I have left so I'm just taking it all in.
