Five Questions: Alex Murray

LITTLE ROCK – This edition of Five Questions features freshman Alex Murray, a guard from nearby Pearcy, Arkansas. In high school, Murray averaged 10 points, four rebounds, three assists and two steals per game while shooting 40 percent from the 3-point line.

What do you expect to be the biggest adjustment for you between high school and college?
The faster pace. In high school only one or two players are at that higher level and can keep up. In college everyone as well as the opposing team is good, so you have to keep up with that.

Outside of basketball what do you do to unwind or clear your head?
I like to go mud riding. I like to be outdoors hunting or fishing. I've always done all of those things with my Papa (grandfather). We like to hunt deer, turkey, squirrels, raccoons and just about anything else.

How do you recover after a hard loss?
I go in the gym and work harder the next day so that I can make sure the same mistakes don't happen in the next game.

After you're done with basketball, what's next for you?
I'm probably going to move back home and become a game warden. A game warden patrols the rivers and lakes we also make sure that everyone hunting game is doing what they're supposed to do.

What is it like representing your home state?
I hope that I can represent my home state and make everyone proud, especially my family and friends.
