Hernandez Leads Way for LR at Sun Belt Championship

DOTHAN, Ala. – Adela Hernandez led the way for the Trojans at the Sun Belt Cross Country Championship on Saturday morning.
 
Hernandez crossed the finish line in 20:05.3, taking 43rd place for Little Rock in the final Sun Belt race of her career.
 
Freshman Hunter Paul was the next Trojan finisher, taking 48th in a time of 20:18.2. Sara Claycomb was the third Trojan across the finish line, taking 67th place in 21:31.2.
 
Tyler Kelly came in 72nd for Little Rock with a time of 21:51.5, and Shoni Searles rounded out the Trojans' scoring with a time of 23:21.0 for 79th place.
 
Also competing for Little Rock was Akeia Joyner. She finished just behind Searles in 80th place in a time of 23:36.3.
 
As a team, the Trojans took 12th place with a score of 309 points.
 
The Trojans will continue their postseason at the NCAA South Central Regional. That race will be held on November 11 in Fayetteville.
