LITTLE ROCK – Head coach
Wes Flanigan and the Trojans held their first official practice on Monday afternoon at the Jack Stephens Center.
Â
"A little bit of everything," Flanigan said when asked what today's practice would entail. "We're going to run our basics. We're going to work on our motion offense. A little bit of transition defense; we've got a secondary defense we're going to put in today. That will be our main focus today – trying to tighten up some things we introduced on Saturday."
Â
Little Rock returns eight lettermen and three starters from last year's team that won 30 games and advanced to the Round of 32 in the NCAA Tournament. Six seniors –
Stetson Billings,
Maurius Hill,
Jalen Jackson,
Marcus Johnson Jr.,
Kemy Osse and
Lis Shoshi – help fill the Trojans' 2016-17 roster. They return three redshirt players and welcome five newcomers.
Â
Johnson, who averaged 12.5 points and shot 46.6 percent from 3-point range, was an All-Sun Belt Second Team honoree in first season with the program. Shoshi started 34 of 35 games as a junior and blocked 39 shots in his first season at the Division I level.
