Five Questions: Evan Moorman

LITTLE ROCK – Evan Moorman enters his second season with the Trojans in 2016-17. Moorman played in three games in 2015-16 before a shoulder injury forced him to miss the remainder of the season.

Moorman came to Little Rock after attending Hill College, where he earned Second Team All-District honors in 2015 after averaging 10.9 points and shooting 52.2 percent from 3-point range to rank third nationally. Moorman's 107 made 3-pointers in 2014-15 were sixth-most nationally.

What were the biggest adjustments for you last year? Transitioning from junior college/high school?

The overall athleticism. In junior college and high school, you usually have first five that are very athletic and very skilled and then there is a big drop off. At the Division I level, all 15 can play and it's isn't that big of a drop off as each guy has a great skill level. It's very consistent throughout the whole team.

Twenty years from now, which moments will stand out most from last season?

Winning, of course. The after big wins, the locker room moments with the coaches and teammates. And getting to know people better. Getting to know them past the basketball level and more as long-term friends. Lifetime friends that reach past basketball.

If not basketball, what other sport would you love to play at a college level?

I find football most enjoyable to play, but if I had to pick a sport to play it would have to be golf. Something very simple, enjoyable, and I could do it my whole life. I'd probably want to play football but I'd end up picking golf.

Outside of sports what do you do to unwind or clear your head?

There isn't a real specific thing I like to do. I just like to be around people and interacting. I like being wherever there are people around to be able to communicate. I don't like being alone and playing video games. I like to be involved in something, where I can just talk and be myself and not have to worry about the seriousness of basketball.

Do you have any rituals before a game to hype you up?

I have to wear the same pair of socks every game. I wash them (laughs). Obviously they are washed. But even if our coach makes us wear certain black socks or white socks, I always have them on underneath. I've done this since high school. I've got to have my white Nike socks I've had since high school on for every game.
