The team of
Tori Fryar,
Emma Doll,
Jinson Kang and
Laura Ruiz Astorga came in with a time of 7:29.27, breaking the old school record of 7:37.20 set in the first day of last year's championship. Fryar, Doll and Kang were part of the old record with former Trojan swimmer
Valeriya Teplova.

In the first of the two scheduled events for the day, the team of
Shayna Underwood,
Nuria Gallego Murcia,
Courtney Coe and
Courtney Goff took sixth in the 200-yard medley relay final with a time of 1:46.53. Â

After the first day of events, Little Rock sits in fifth place with 56 points. Northern Iowa and Southern Illinois are currently tied for first with 72 points. Missouri State sits third with 68 while Illinois State is just two points ahead of the Trojans in fourth with 58 points. Evansville holds the sixth and final spot with 54 points.

The second day of the MVC Championship will feature the 500-yard freestyle, 200-yard individual medley, 50-yard freestyle, one-meter dive and 200-yard free relay. Preliminaries will take place at 11 a.m., and finals will begin at 6 p.m. Starting Thursday, all final events will be streamed for free through
