Live VideoCARBONDALE, Ill. – Two more school records fell for Little Rock in the second day of the Missouri Valley Conference Championships at Southern Illinois as Little Rock took sixth place with 121 points through seven events on Thurday.

Sophomore
Tori Fryar finished fifth in the A-Final of the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 4:55.53, breaking her previous school record of 4:56.01 that was set at the MVC championship last year. Junior
Kayla Grimm finished first in the C-Final and finished 17th overall with a time of 5:10.71.

In the morning preliminaries,
Jinson Kang broke her own school record in the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 2:07.35, beating her previous record by nearly two seconds. In the B-Final, Kang broke her hours old record with a time of 2:06.20, over three seconds faster than the record she entered the day with. In the C-Final,
Imre van Huyssteen and
Shayna Underwood posted finishes of 18th and 24th.

In the 50-yard freestyle,
Emma Doll finished second in the B-Final and 10th overall with time of 24.14. In the morning prelim, Doll tied her personal best with a time of 24.12.
Courtney Goff finished 15th overall with a time of 24.38. In the C-Final,
Courtney Coe,
Kara Knapschaefer and
Ann Kharlamova finished 18th, 21st and 22nd, respectively.

In the one-meter dive,
Samantha Gray finished 10th overall with a score of 214.65.

In the final event of the evening, the team of
Laura Ruiz Astorga,
Courtney Coe,
Courtney Goff and
Emma Doll took fifth in the 200-yard free relay with a time of 1:35.74, just .26 slower than the school record.

With two of four days complete, Southern Illinois remains out front with 284 points with Missouri State nipping their heels with 281. Northern Iowa fell to third with 222 and Illinois remains in fourth with 149. Evansville moved up a spot to fifth with 127.

The third day of events on Friday will include the 400-yard IM, 100-yard butterfly, 200-yard freestyle, 100-yard breaststroke, 100-yard backstroke and 400-yard medley relay. Preliminaries begin at 11 a.m., with finals beginning at 6 p.m., live on
