Meet Your Trojans: Marcus Johnson Jr.

LITTLE ROCK – The subject of this week's Meet Your Trojans is men's basketball junior Marcus Johnson Jr. A transfer from Hill College, Johnson is in his first year on campus and majoring in Criminal Justice.

Johnson and the Trojans are 21-2 this season and undefeated at the Jack Stephens Center. The Charlotte, N.C., native is averaging a team-high 13.2 points per game and leads the Sun Belt Conference in 3-point percentage (.463).

What are your favorite things to do in Little Rock?
Just hang out with my teammates and go bowling.

What is something that most people don't know about you?
That I love to play video games. It started when I was in the ninth grade. I have two favorites – Call of Duty and NBA2K.

Who is the athlete you most admire?
Russell Westbrook. He's just so emotional and plays so hard. I love him.

What advice would you give to children just getting started in athletics?
No matter what anyone says, just keep working hard and you can make your dreams come true.

What is your favorite home-cooked meal?
Fried chicken corn and rice – my mom always cooks it for me.

What is your favorite community service event that your team has done?
The Camp Aldersgate Fish Fry. There were a lot of little kids out there and we were just able to shoot around with them, play horse and just have a little fun.

What's the best reason for people to attend your games this year?
First, we're 21-2 and that's the best record in the nation. We just come out here and have fun – that's what we do.

Johnson and the Trojans are on the road for four straight games before returning to the JSC on Feb. 25 to take on UT Arlington.
