LITTLE ROCK – Little Rock's athletic teams were top notch in the classroom during the fall semester, finishing with a combined semester grade point average of 3.20 and a combined cumulative GPA of 3.19.
Among Little Rock's 181 student-athletes, 130 had a GPA of 3.0 or higher (72 percent). Of those 130 student-athletes, 29 had a perfect 4.0 GPA.

Richard Turner, Senior Associate Athletic Director for Compliance and Student Support. "The latest report reflects a 'cultural balance' between academic and athletic endeavors established by our coaches and supported by a dedicated faculty. These young men and women are learning that success, in academics and athletics, is a direct result of what they do on a daily basis and this will serve them well throughout their lives."
Thirty-eight different Little Rock student-athletes across all sports made the Chancellor's List for the fall semester while 32 others made the Dean's List. Students on the Chancellor's List finished the semester with at least nine credit hours earned, a 3.9 GPA and nothing below a C in any one class. To be named to the Dean's List, a student must maintain a GPA above 3.5 while earning at least nine hours and nothing below a C.
The Little Rock soccer program had the highest fall semester GPA with 3.64 and led the Department of Athletics with a 3.59 cumulative average. All nine players named to the Chancellor's List had a GPA of 4.0, and another nine were named to the Dean's List. Twenty-three of the 27 student-athletes had a GPA of 3.0 or higher for the semester.
The baseball program had a GPA of 3.24 for the fall semester, the highest since the fall semester of 2006. The team also had a 3.18 cumulative average. Seven players were named to the Chancellor's List with six of the seven earning perfect 4.0 GPAs. Nine others were named to the Dean's List. Of the current 34 student-athletes on the roster, 28 earned a GPA of at least 3.0.
Swimming and diving picked up a 3.46 GPA for the fall and finished with a cumulative average of 3.54. Five student-athletes were named to the Chancellor's List with four of the five earning a perfect 4.0 GPA. Seven other swimmers made the Dean's List. Sixteen of the team's 19 student-athletes earned a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
Women's golf earned a 3.43 GPA for the fall while finishing with a 3.51 cumulative average. Three member of the team were named to the Chancellor's List. Six of its seven players had a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
Volleyball put up a 3.35 GPA for the fall semester and had a 3.27 cumulative average. Two players were named to the Chancellor's List while one earned a perfect 4.0 GPA. One other student-athlete was named to the Dean's List. Nine of the program's 11 student-athletes finished with a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
Men's golf earned a 3.33 GPA for the fall and finished with a 3.23 cumulative GPA. Two members of the team were named to the Chancellor's List as both finished with perfect 4.0 GPAs. Nine of the 10 players earned a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
Women's cross country and track finished the fall semester with a 3.12 GPA and a 3.19 cumulative average. Two members were named to the Chancellor's List with perfect 4.0 GPAs and four others were named to the Dean's List. Eleven of the 17 student-athletes ended the semester with a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
Women's basketball had one student-athlete make the Chancellor's List with a perfect 4.0 GPA while two others made the Dean's List. Half the roster finished with a fall semester GPA of 3.0 or higher.
Men's basketball had three student-athletes earn a spot on the Dean's List. Over half of the roster's 17 student-athletes finished the semester with a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
Men's cross country and track had one student-athlete named to the Chancellor's List with a perfect 4.0 GPA while three other members of the team were named to the Dean's List. Over half of the roster's 21 student-athletes had a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
