Trojans Fifth at Jim West Intercollegiate

LOST PINES, Texas – The Little Rock men's golf team is in fifth place and Matias Calderon is tied for sixth place through two rounds of the Jim West Intercollegiate at Wolfdancer Golf Club.
 
The Trojans posted a team score of 3-over 579 through Monday's first 36 holes. Saint Mary's leads the field of 13 teams at 14-under 562. Rice is in second place at 10-under 566, followed by McNeese State at 7-under 569 in third place. North Texas is alone in fourth place and five shots ahead of Little Rock at 2-under 574.
 
Calderon opened with a 3-under 69 in round one before carding an even-par 72 in the second round. He will start Tuesday's final round five strokes back of the lead and just two strokes outside the top-three.
 
Tyler Reynolds is tied for 19^th place at even par. Reynolds shot 72-72 on Monday and is two strokes from cracking the event's top-10 individuals.
 
George Trujillo and Beau Hanson are tied for 28^th place at 3 over par. Trujillo carded an even-par 72 in round one before shooting a 3-over 75 in his second round. Hanson did the opposite, shooting a 3-over 75 in round one before rebounding with an even-par 72.
 
Rice's Mitchell Meissner leads the field of 76 individuals at 8 under par. Texas State's Chase Ambrose is 7 under par and in second place.
 
Tuesday's final round will begin with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m.
