Jackson Signs NLI for 2016-17

LITTLE ROCK – Corbyn Jackson, a 6-7, 250-pound forward from South Georgia Tech College, has signed a National Letter of Intent to play basketball for Little Rock in the 2016-17 season.

"I think Little Rock is getting a very physical-minded player," said South Georgia Tech head coach Travis Garrett. "He's very skilled to be that big. He's a man. He brings a very physical approach to the game, but he is also skilled enough to step out and make plays on the perimeter. He rebounds well and knows how to play the game. He'll be a good asset to the Trojans' program."

Jackson averaged 11.0 points and 7.2 rebounds per game as a sophomore at South Georgia Tech. He shot 46.1 percent from the floor and 75.7 percent from the foul line.

Jackson blocked 37 shots in 26 games to rank in the top 100 nationally. He blocked multiple shots in 11 games.

Jackson – who scored in double figures 18 times and grabbed double-digit rebounds in nine games – finished the year with six double-doubles.

He totaled 13 points and 10 rebounds in a win over East Georgia State on Dec. 5. At Gordon State on Dec. 12, he scored a season-high 18 points on 7-of-12 shooting while grabbing 11 rebounds and blocking two shots. Jackson finished with 16 points and 10 rebounds vs. Atlanta Metropolitan on Jan. 13 and totaled 15 points and 14 boards at Georgia Highlands on Jan. 30.

Jackson ended the season with back-to-back double-doubles, totaling 29 points and 20 rebounds in consecutive matchups against South Georgia State.

Jackson joins a pair of local products in Andre Jones (Malvern HS) and Ryan Pippins (Parkview HS) to make up Little Rock's 2016 recruiting class.
