LITTLE ROCK – Little Rock was recognized for its record-setting 2015-16 season by the Arkansas State Senate at the Capitol on Wednesday. Senators Jeremy Hutchinson and Joyce Elliot took turns speaking on the team's accomplishments and the impact its success had on the community.

"We congratulate coach Wes Flanigan and the Little Rock Trojans on setting the best record in the school's history and bringing great pride to the school, fans and state," Hutchinson said.

Little Rock won its first-ever outright Sun Belt Conference Championship in the regular season before winnings its second Sun Belt Tournament title. The Trojans knocked off No. 5 seed Purdue in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament. Josh Hagins, Marcus Johnson Jr. and Roger Woods all earned All-Sun Belt honors, while Woods was named the Most Valuable Player at the Sun Belt Tournament.

"Wes, I want to say congratulations to you on keeping that legacy going," Elliott said. "We look forward to you being the leader of this great group of folks."
