Kim Whipple has been named Little Rock's new head dance coach, Director of Athletics
Chasse Conque announced on Wednesday. Whipple has danced competitively for over a decade and was a member of the Seattle Supersonics dance team for four years.

"It is an honor and privilege to become a member of the Little Rock family," Whipple said. "I am excited about this program and what it stands for. I am committed to the greatness that the Trojans strive for and look forward to enhancing the game-day experience for our students and fans."

Dance tryouts will be held on Sunday, June 5 at the Jack Stephens Center. Check-in is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. with tryouts starting at 2. Any questions can be directed to

Whipple was captain of the Seattle dance team for two years and was selected to travel with NBA All-Star teams to Spain, London, Germany and Thailand while making various television, radio and public appearances around the world.

Whipple moved to Los Angeles to work professionally in tours, music videos, television and film, working with artists such as Christina Aguilera, Usher and Gwen Stefani. She later opened her own dance studio and is the director of a performance/competition dance company that is a five-time national champion.

Whipple studied Dance and Theater at the University of Washington.
