LITTLE ROCK – The Trojan women's basketball team has added one more player to its 2016-17 roster, Coach
Joe Foley announced on Tuesday, as Destinee Pointer will be joining Little Rock for the upcoming season.

Pointer, out of Waxahachie, Texas, averaged 16 points, six rebounds, three assists and two steals per game at Waxahachie High School. She was named First Team All-District and All-Region by the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches. Pointer had six different 20-point games during her senior season at Waxahachie.

"Destinee will come in and immediately give us depth at the guard position," Foley said. "She is a great ball handler and quick on her feet. We're happy to have her as part of the team."

Pointer will be the sixth member of the Trojans' incoming class, joining Sydney Chastain, Kyra Collier, Anna Hurlburt, Emily Lytle and Alex Murray. Pointer will be the fifth member of the team who has a hometown in Texas (
Sharde' Collins,
Raeyana DeGray,
Ronjanae DeGray, Hurlburt).

The Trojans' 2016 season will begin in November, and the team's schedule will be announced later in the summer.
