LITTLE ROCK – Director of Athletics
Chasse Conque has announced the creation of the Kevin Crass Heart of a Trojan Award. It will be given annually to a Little Rock student-athlete based on community service, leadership and dedication to their team.
Â
"My college education was provided through a student athletic scholarship and my college experience was made richer by being part of a team and competing," Crass said. "I am blessed to support college athletics, particularly the Little Rock Trojans. I am honored by the establishment of this award and excited that it will reward and hopefully promote the development of off the field skills that will make our student athletes better citizens."
Â
An avid supporter, ambassador, community leader and benefactor, Crass recently finished a two-year term as chair of the Trojan Advisory Council, the department's board of advisors. Crass has been a member of the council since its inception and will remain a member.
Â
Crass is also a member of the University of Arkansas at Little Rock Board of Visitors.Â
Â
"Over the years, Kevin Crass has had a significant impact on Trojan Athletics and our student-athletes," Conque said. "No one loves our community, our university and the students we serve more than Kevin."
Â
The inaugural award will be presented in the spring of 2017.
Â
"I am personally grateful for his loyal and unwavering support of Little Rock Athletics," Conque said. "We are grateful for his many contributions and the impact that he and Cathy have on our student-athletes and coaches."
