LITTLE ROCK – Former Trojan distance runner Natasha Wodak ran a season best in the 10K at the 2016 Olympics on Friday morning, taking 22nd place in 31:53.14.
Â
The time was just 12 seconds shy of Wodak's personal best that she set in 2015.
Â
Wodak became just the second former Little Rock cross country/track athlete to participate in the Olympic Games, joining Dawn Williams' 800-meter race in 1996.
Â
Competing for Canada, Wodak found herself racing in the same field as winner Almaz Ayana of Ethiopia who broke the 10K world record by 14 seconds, finishing in 29:17.45.
Â
Wodak still holds the Canadian record in the 10K as well as the 8K.
