Trojans Take Fourth at UCA Challenge

CONWAY – Hunter Paul finished in eighth place as an individual and the Little Rock women's cross country team came in fourth place at the UCA Cross Country Challenge in Conway on Saturday morning.
 
One week after leading the Trojans at the Memphis Twilight Invitational, Paul was once again the Trojans' top finisher on Saturday. She finished the 4K course in 15:25.6, earning the highest place for any Little Rock runner when she crossed the finish line in eighth.
 
Sara Claycomb was the next Trojan runner to finish, coming in 20th place overall in 15:52.0. Her time scored 19 points for Little Rock.
 
Jasmine Blunt was 26th overall in the race and scored 24 points for the Trojans, finishing in 16:08.7. Tyler Kelly took 33rd in 16:31.1 to score 29 points, and Keishona Searles rounded out the Trojans' scoring efforts with a 56th-place finish in 17:27.8. Her time scored 41 points for the Trojans.
 
All told, Little Rock ended the race with 121 points for fourth place.
 
Also competing for the Trojans was Rebeca Solis, who took 68th place in 17:59.6. Akeia Joyner was 75th in 18:35.2.
 
The Trojans now have nearly a month off before their next race. Little Rock will compete again at the Chile Pepper Festival in Fayetteville on October 1.
