COLUMBIA, Mo. – Little Rock opened up the Johnie Imes Invitational with an 18-over 306 in round one, sitting 13th among the challenging field at Missouri's home event.
The Trojans' 306 was led by a 4-over 76 by both junior
Lucy Owen and senior
Sabrina Bonanno as the duo is tied for 33rd in the individual standings. Junior
Emelie Blennow and senior
Pernille Orlien are both one shot off the pace, each carding a 5-over 77 over the opening 18 holes, with sophomore
Thea Wakeford-Wesmann finishing with a 7-over 79.
Little Rock enters Tuesday's competition with a one stroke lead on UMKC (19-over 307) and sit within striking distance of a handful of teams, sitting one shot back of 12th-place Wichita State (17-over 305), three shots behind 11th-place Mercer (15-over 303) and four shots back of both Illinois State and Missouri State, tied for ninth at 14-over 302.
Host Missouri leads the field with an even-par 288 in round one, six shots ahead of second-place Middle Tennessee's 6-over 294. North Texas and East Tennessee State (7-over 295) are tied for third with Kennesaw State (8-over 296) rounding out the top-five.
With inclement weather in the forecast for Wednesday, a shift has occurred in the Johnie Imes Invitational schedule.
