LITTLE ROCK – Behind
Aaron Ramos' 6-under 138, Little Rock holds the lead after the opening 36 holes of the Little Rock Invitational at Chenal Country Club. The Trojans posted a 5-over 581 though the opening two rounds and leads Illinois State by one stroke heading into Tuesday's final round.
Little Rock Invitational Day One Results
Ramos registered a pair of 3-under 69s on the day, beginning with the back nine of round one and continuing through the first nine holes of round two. The freshman was as low as 7-under before a bogey on 18 ended the streak as he holds a one shot edge on a pair of competitors.
The Trojans raced out to a commanding lead in their home event over the opening 18 holes, shooting a 6-under 282 and establishing a 12-stroke advantage on second-place Dayton (6-over 294). That run was paced by Ramos' career-best 3-under 69, highlighted by the 3-under 33 over the back nine.

Tiago Lobo's 2-under 70 as sophomore
Danial Durisic posted a 1-under 71 through the opening 18 holes. Junior
Justin Warren was even-par after round one with junior
George Scanlon registering a 5-over 77.
Round two, however, saw a combination of Little Rock adding strokes to its opening round total and Illinois State catching fire. The Trojans posted an 11-over 299 while the Redbirds matched Little Rock's opening round 582, pulling to within one shot with 18 holes to play.
Ramos again paced the Trojans in round two, matching his 3-under 69 in round one. He leads all players at 2-under on par-four holes after day one and Is tied for second with a 4-under on the par-fives, shooting 10 birdies on Monday.
Durisic posted a 1-over 73 in round two and sits at even-par 144, tied for 11th among the individual standings. Warren added a 5-over 77 to register a 5-over 149, tied for 28th. Lobo is tied for 32nd with an 8-over 150 with Scanlon's 14-over 158 rounding out the Trojan scorecard.
Sitting one shot ahead of Illinois State after 36 holes, Little Rock holds an eight-stroke advantage on Sun Belt Conference foes UT Arlington and Arkansas State (13-over 589) while sitting 10 shots better than fifth-place Dayton (15-over 591).
Tuesday's final round gets underway at 8 a.m. as Little Rock will play with both the Redbirds and Mustangs in the final round pairings. Live scoring is available at
