Tournament History
This year's event marks the 10th anniversary of Little Rock's annual tournament at Diamante, an event the Trojans have won three times (2007, 2009 and 2010). Missouri State holds the tournament record for the team low score, shooting an 887 in 2015, with current LPGA member Gerina Mendoza-Piller holding the individual record, shooting a 207 en route to the first medalist honor in 2007. Last year's event saw Central Arkansas claim the team title with an 891 as three players tied for the individual low score of 218.
Last Time Out
Little Rock closed out a challenging start to the 2017-18 season with an 11th-place showing at the Johnie Imes Invitational in Columbia, Missouri October 3. The Trojans shot a 908, jumping two spots over the final 18 holes to finish 11th, while senior
Sabrina Bonanno notched her fourth-straight top-20 finish, tying for 15th with a 4-over 220. The tournament capped four tournaments in as many weeks in four different states and three different time zones for Little Rock as the team traveled nearly 7,000 miles during that span.
Bonanno Leads the Charge
Senior
Sabrina Bonanno has been the undisputed leader for the Trojans during the first two months of 2017-18, boasting a scoring average of 73.75 through the first four events. Bonanno has tallied three rounds of par-or-better, carding a low round of 70 on two occasions, and has finished in the top-15 in all four tournaments, highlighted by her fifth-place tie at the Marilynn Smith Sunflower Invitational.
Looking Ahead
The Little Rock Golf Classic marks the final event of the fall for the Trojans who will then set their sights on six tournaments in the spring. Little Rock returns to action on February 12-13 in Kyle, Texas, competing in the Texas State Invitational at Plum Creek Golf Club.
