BOONE, N.C. – Little Rock's
Shanieke Watson earned a sixth-place finish at the 2017 Sun Belt Conference Championships on the campus of Appalachian State on Saturday morning.

The 5K race featured 81 runners from all 12 Sun Belt Conference schools.

Watson crossed the finish line with a time of 17:57.6 — her third-best 5K time of the season.

Vianney Sanchez was the Trojans' next runner to cross the finish line as she placed 43 with a time of 19:03.5. Finishing right behind her in 44th was sophomore
Hunter Paul with a time of 19:05.8.

Hannah Manning placed 56th with a time of 19:34.4. Kim Boni took 73rd with a time of 20:33.2, and
Tyler Kelly finished 80th with a time of 23.25.4

Little Rock finished 10th as a team with 222 points. Texas State earned the team championship with 53 points while Appalachian State took second with 80 points. South Alabama took third as junior Laura Labuschaigne earned the individual championship.

The Trojans will now prepare for the NCAA South Central Regional in College Station, Texas, on Nov. 10.
