LITTLE ROCK – With basketball season just over a month away, Little Rock women's basketball opened up practice for the 2017-18 season on Tuesday afternoon inside Fisher Court.

The defending Sun Belt Conference Regular-Season Champions return starters
Monique Townson,
Ronjanae DeGray and
Kyra Collier in addition to letterwinners
Kira Shepard,
Sydney Chastain,
Kiara Scott,
Anna Hurlburt,
Raeyana DeGray and
Keanna Keys.

The Trojans bring in five newcomers for the new season, including four freshmen (
Terrion Moore,
Tori Lasker,
Keyara Jones,
Teal Battle) and one junior college transfer (
Yanina Inkina).
Head coach
Joe Foley will begin his 15th season at the helm of the program after earning Sun Belt Coach of the Year honors last season.

Last year's squad finished 25-9 overall and recorded a 17-1 record in Sun Belt Conference play. The Trojans advanced to the second round of the WNIT and were ranked 20th in the final mid-major poll of the season.

The 2017-18 season opens on Nov. 12 against Memphis at the Jack Stephens Center. Memphis finished the 2016-17 season with an overall record of 14-16 and a 7-9 record in American Athletic Conference play.
