HOT SPRINGS VILLAGE, Ark. – Little Rock has a pair of players among the individual top-20 and remains in the team top-10, tied for eighth after 36 holes of the Little Rock Golf Classic. The Trojans posted a 19-over 307 on day two, sitting at 37-over 613 heading into Tuesday's final round.
Little Rock Golf Classic Day Two Results
On a nearly perfect fall afternoon, Little Rock was among the last flight to tee off and used the warm afternoon to its advantage, making up some strokes to settle in the tie for eighth with Oral Roberts. The Trojans hold a three shot lead on 10th-place Houston Baptist (40-over 616) while trailing seventh-place Stephen F. Austin (36-over 612) by one stroke.
Individually, Little Rock has a pair of golfers among the individual top-20, led by senior
Sabrina Bonanno. Bonanno is tied for 12th at 6-over 150, posting a 2-over 74 in round two as she pursues her fifth-straight top-20 finish. Sophomore
Thea Wakeford-Wesmann is tied for 18th at 10-over 152, tying her season-low with a 3-over 75 Monday.
Junior
Emelie Blennow slipped into a tie for 24th at 11-over 153 following an 8-over 80, five shots better than senior
Pernille Orlien's 14-over 158. Junior
Lucy Owen rounds out the Trojan scorecard with a 27-over 171.
After 36 holes, Central Arkansas holds the team lead at 25-over 601, one shot better than Jacksonville State's 26-over 602. UTEP (29-over 605) is currently third with Sam Houston State and Missouri State (30-over 606) tied for fourth and Utah Valley (32-over 608) checking in at sixth.
The final round of the Little Rock Golf Classic gets underway with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday morning as Little Rock will tee off from holes eight, nine and 10, playing with Stephen F. Austin and Oral Roberts in the final round pairings. Live scoring of the event is available at
