Trojan Trio Earns All-Sun Belt Conference Accolades

FOLEY, Ala. – Three Trojans have been named All-Sun Belt Conference selections for 2017, announced today by the league office. Arola Aparicio Gili and Doro Greulich were named first team selections with Liesa Seifert being named a second team honoree.

It is the second-straight first team selection for Aparicio Gili as she becomes the first two-time first team honoree in program history. Greulich notches her first career first team honor after being named a second team selection in 2016 while Seifert picks up her first career Sun Belt accolade.

Aparicio Gili continues to be a constant for the Trojans, appearing in all 19 games with 17 starts at the forward position. The St. Antoni de Vilamajor, Spain, native has registered two goals and two assists on the year, putting 19 of her 31 shots on goal while playing just shy of 1,300 minutes for the Trojans in 2017.

Greulich has paced the Little Rock offense this season, registering a team-best eight goals with one assist, notching the game-winner in the 3-1 win at Georgia State. The Potsdam, Germany, native has a pair of multi-goal games in 2017, netting a hat trick at Murray State while scoring two goals against the Panthers, earning herself a pair of Sun Belt Offensive Player of the Week honors.

Seifert made an immediate impact in her first season as a Trojan, seeing action in all 19 games with 16 starts on defense. The Potsdam, Germany, native registered a pair of goals on the year, including the game-winner in the 4-0 victory over UT-Rio Grande Valley, while helping the Little Rock defense hold opponents to 1.26 goals per game with five shutouts.

With Aparicio Gili and Greulich both earning first team honors, it marks the first time in program history a pair of Trojans have been named to the Sun Belt's All-Conference first team. Under head coach Adrian Blewitt, Little Rock has now garnered 11 all-conference honors in the past five years, including three first team selections.

The announcement was made on the eve of the 2017 Sun Belt Conference tournament in Foley, Alabama, as Little Rock enters the postseason as the number five seed. The Trojans will square off against rival Arkansas State in the first game of the tournament, getting underway at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, November 1 at the Foley Sports Tourism Complex.
