LITTLE ROCK – Little Rock begins the Sun Belt Conference Tournament against in-state rival Arkansas State at 10 a.m., on Wednesday at the Foley Sports Tourism Complex in Foley, Alabama. The match will air live on ESPN3.
The Trojans finished the regular season strong after having their backs up against the wall by winning three of their last five games. Little Rock enters the tournament as the fifth seed with 14 points after finishing 4-4-2 in conference play. They will be taking on the Red Wolves who enter the tournament as the fourth seed with 16 points.
The two teams faced off early in conference play at Arkansas State in a match where Little Rock saw 19 chances towards the net but failed to put one in. The Red Wolves were able to get a late-game goal in the 85
th minute to steal the win 1-0 over the Trojans.
Little Rock will be looking for recently awarded All-Conference First Team winners
Doro Greulich and Arola Aparicio to lead the attack. Greulich is coming off a late-season goal surge where she tallied three goals in the final three games of the season. Little Rock's defense will be anchored down by
Liesa Seifert, who was just awarded All-Conference Second Team.
If the Trojans can get a win tomorrow, they would play the winner of the South Alabama-Appalachian State match on Friday at 4 p.m.
