PEARLAND, Texas – Little Rock opened up the 2017 Bayou City Collegiate Classic tying for eighth after round one, then slipped back to 11th after round two. The Trojans are currently at 15-over 591, posting a 291 and a 300 Monday.

The highlight of the day for the Trojans was the play of junior George Scanlon, who is tied for ninth overall at 2-under 142. Scanlon registered a 1-under 71 in both rounds Monday, sitting tied for second among par-five scoring after finishing at 4-under through the opening two rounds.

Little Rock opened up its third event of the season with a 3-over 291 in round one, tying for eighth among the 15-team field after 18 holes. Scanlon's 71 was two shots better than the 1-over 73 recorded by sophomore Danial Durisic and junior Justin Warren as freshman Aaron Ramos was fourth on the Trojan scorecard with a 2-over 74.

The Trojans missed key shots in the afternoon round, adding nine strokes to their round one total for a 12-over 300, the first round of 2017-18 that was not in the 200s. Scanlon's 71 again was the low score for Little Rock, followed by a 3-over 75 from Durisic and a 5-over 77 carded by Warren and sophomore Logan Pate.

Durisic is second on the Little Rock scorecard with a 4-over 148, tied for 40th overall. He is two shots better than Warren's 6-over 150 with Ramos and Pate both posting an 8-over 152 through the opening 36 holes.

Little Rock has a chance to make a move over the final 18 holes Tuesday, sitting one shot back of 10th-place Nebraska (14-over 590) and three strokes behind ninth-place Texas State (12-over 588). The Trojans will also have to be wary of 12th-place Lamar, who is one shot behind Little Rock at 16-over 592.

Rival Arkansas State holds the team lead after 36 holes at 7-under 569, one shot ahead of second-place Lipscomb's 6-under 570. Sam Houston State (2-under 574) is third with UT-San Antonio (1-under 575) and Houston (Even-par 576) rounding out the top-five.
