LITTLE ROCK – Coming into Friday night with a three-match home winning streak, Little Rock volleyball (9-18, 5-10 Sun Belt) will host rival Arkansas State (18-10, 11-4 Sun Belt) to close out the season at 6:30 p.m., at the Jack Stephens Center.
Â
To kick off a busy Homecoming Weekend at the Jack Stephens Center, a pep rally will occur on the steps of the Jack at 6 p.m. Basketball coaches
Wes Flanigan and
Joe Foley will speak as the Trojans open up their seasons this weekend.
Â
Before the match, the Trojans will honor senior
Marina Avram for her four years of hard work and dedication to the program. Avram is the only remaining Trojan from the historic 2014 team that defeated No. 16-seeded Kansas in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. Little Rock finished the season with an overall record of 30-5, a Sun Belt record of 20-0, a regular-season championship, a conference tournament championship and earned its first-ever AVCA ranking of 24. Avram has recorded 835 kills for her career — eighth-most in the rally-scoring era at Little Rock — and has compiled the ninth-most attacks in program history with 2,850. Her 78 aces rank 10th in the rally-scoring era at Little Rock. This season, Avram has compiled 12 double-doubles with 324 kills and 237 digs.
Â
Little Rock and Arkansas State went four sets in Jonesboro in October, but the Red Wolves came out on top. Since Little Rock's transition to Division I in 1991, Arkansas State has held the series lead at 39-19, but the series is much closer when playing in Little Rock as the Red Wolves own the slight edge at 14-10. Little Rock will look to snap a six-match skid against Arkansas State as the Trojans' last win occurred in 2014.

- At 2,227 career assists, Taylor Lindberg is 44 shy of passing Maialla Hurga for the fifth most in program history.
- Lindberg is six assists shy of 1,000 for the season and ranks 59th in the nation.
- With 985 career digs and currently tied for eighth all-time, Sydnee Martin is 15 shy of becoming the eighth Trojan in program history with 1,000 career digs.
- Martin has 487 digs for the year — sixth-most in a single season at Little Rock and 48th most in the nation this season.
- Martin is three digs shy of passing Emily Pepperman's season total of 489 in 2009.
- Martin is 13 digs shy of becoming just the fifth Trojan to record 500 digs in a single season. She would join Priscila Almeida, Amy Hafner (twice) and Capri Rino in achieving the feat.
- If she surpasses 505 digs for the year, Martin would have the third-most digs in a single season at Little Rock.
- Marina Avram has recorded a double-double in four of her last five matches.
- Little Rock's 247 total blocks rank second in the Sun Belt and 36th nationally.
- The Trojans' 1,589 digs rank 83rd in the nation while their 1,298 kills rank 93rd.
