LITTLE ROCK – Former Little Rock golfer Patrick Sullivan has earned a spot on the Web.com Tour after posting a 14-under 274 at the Web.com Tour Qualifying Finals last week in Chandler, Arizona.
Sullivan tied for 42nd among the 144-player field and shot in the 60s in three of his four rounds, aided by a 5-under 67 over the final 18 holes that helped him propel five spots to earn his qualification.
"I'm really proud of Patrick and all the hard work he has put into making it through Web.com qualifying school," said Little Rock Director of Golf
Jake Harrington. "Getting through all three stages is extremely exhausting, both mentally and physically, and I look forward to watching him continue to chase his dreams on the Web.com Tour this year. He is one of the hardest working people I know and the Little Rock Trojan family should be really proud to have him represent us on tour."
A 2005 Little Rock graduate, Sullivan continues to hold his place throughout the Trojan record books. Playing in 32 tournaments in his Little Rock career, Sullivan posted a 73.57 career scoring average, ranking third all-time at the Division I level, while ranking second all-time in career par or better rounds (39) and third in career eagles (10). His 72.14 average in 2004-05 also ranks second in season scoring average for the Trojans.
Sullivan won three tournaments during his time in Little Rock, capturing the 2005 First Tee Collegiate Classic, followed up by capturing the 2005 Sun Belt Conference individual title. He was a two-time All-Sun Belt Conference selection and was one of three Trojans named to the league's 30th Anniversary team in 2006.
Qualifying for the Web.com tour requires advancing through three stages of four-day tournaments, making up what is known as Q-school. The top 45 from the final stage make it to the Web.com Tour with the top 25 finishers in the regular season standings, as well as the top 25 in the four-tournament playoffs, advancing to the PGA Tour.
Sullivan's first tournament on the Web.com tour will take place January 13-16 at the Bahamas Great Exuma Classic at Sandals Emerald Bay.
