JONESBORO, Ark. – A relay win highlighted the indoor track and field season opener for Little Rock's men's team at the A-State Kickoff Klassic on Sunday at FNB Arena.

Little Rock's best performance of the day came in the men's 4 x 400-meter relay as it won with a time of 3:17.44. The team of
Jalen Black,
Ch'kilas Calhoun,
Travion Clark and
Charles Okeze finished with the fifth-fastest time in program history and defeated Arkansas State by just over three seconds.

Charles Okeze placed second in the men's 55 meter with a time of 6.31 — .04 off the winning time. Okeze's time was the third-fastest in program history.
Keshawn Andrews finished fourth with a time of 6.40 — tying James Lundberg for the sixth-fastest time in program history.

In the men's 400 meter,
Jalen Black finished third with a time of 50.25.
Jaelon Gossett finished 15th with a time of 52.34.

Noah Smith placed third in the men's 800 meter with a time of 1:59.47.
Max Holzmueller finished 10th with a time of 2:02.30 while
Garrett Rokas finished 15th with a time of 2:06.47.

Rogelio Araiza and
Emilio Medina finished ninth and 10th in the men's 3,000 meter as they posted times of 9:08.74 and 9:08.84, respectively.

Keshawn Andrews was Little Rock's top finisher in the men's 200 meter as he came in with a ninth-place finish of 23.11.
Emmanuel Olie finished 14th with a time of 23.35.

Little Rock will now have over a month before its next meet at the Samford Clash on Jan. 20 in Birmingham, Alabama.
