LITTLE ROCK – Little Rock Athletics has announced the resignation of Trojan head soccer coach
Adrian Blewitt. Blewitt has accepted the head women's soccer coaching position at West Point.
In his five seasons in Little Rock, Blewitt helped build the Trojan soccer program into one respected in both the Sun Belt Conference and the region. Inheriting a 2-16 team, Blewitt posted a 44-46-10 record during his time in Little Rock, making his mark as the program's all-time winningest coach.
Blewitt's teams won eight or more games in four of his five seasons in Little Rock, including a program-best 12 victories in 2016, following an 11-win campaign in 2014. The Trojans were especially strong at home under Blewitt, posting a 30-15-4 record at Coleman Sports Complex, which opened in 2012, highlighted by a 19-4-4 record the past three seasons.
Under Blewitt's tutelage, the Trojans qualified for the Sun Belt Conference tournament all five seasons, advancing to the semifinals the past two seasons. The Trojans had 11 players named All-Sun Belt Conference selections during his five seasons, the most all-conference players ever under a Trojan head coach.
"Thanks to the hard work of coach Blewitt and his staff, Little Rock soccer sits on a strong foundation," said Director of Athletics
Chasse Conque, "We are grateful for his five years of service and wish him, Tami and their family all the best at West Point."
Conque said that a nationwide search for Little Rock's next head coach will begin immediately.
"Our program is poised to compete atop the Sun Belt Conference," Conque said. "We will find a leader that can help our student-athletes and program take that next step both on and off the field."
