Berger Places Ninth at Texas State Invitational

NEW BRAUNFELS, Texas – Little Rock placed 11th at the Texas State Invitational at The Bandit Golf Club on Tuesday. Shania Berger tied for ninth place to pace the Trojans in their first event of the spring season.
 
UTSA (901) placed first, followed closely by host Texas State (906) and Georgia Southern (911).
 
Houston's Leonie Harm finished at 5 over par to take home individual medalist honors. Georgia Southern's Ariana Macioce and Boston College's Lois Kaye Go tied for second place at 7 over par.
 
The Trojans finished with a team score of 943, one stroke outside the top 10. Little Rock posted team scores of 315-313-315 over the three-round tournament.
 
Berger shot 74-72-78 to finish at 11 over par and in a three-way tie for ninth place. It was Berger's second top-10 finish of the 2016-17 season.
 
Emelie Blennow shot 77-80-79 to finish at 23 over par. Sabrina Bonanno was 27 over par and Pernille Orlien was 34 over.
 
Next up for Little Rock is the Rio Verde Invitational on Feb. 24.
