IAAF World Relays Homepage

LITTLE ROCK – Already a holder of seven different school records for the Trojans, Anika Charles will get a chance to show her skill on an international level this weekend at the 2017 IAAF World Relays Championships in the Bahamas.

Charles will be a part of two different relay teams for her native Trinidad & Tobago, racing in the 4x200 and 4x400 relays.

The IAAF World Relays Championships will take place on Saturday and Sunday at T. Robinson Stadium in Nassau and feature more than 800 combined athletes from 35 different countries including Trinidad & Tobago, the United States, Jamaica and other powerhouse countries in the track world.

Heats for Charles' 4x200 relays will begin at 6:35 p.m. on Saturday, and heats for the 4x400 relay will be held at 7:30 p.m. The 4x200 finals will take place at 9:21 p.m. on Saturday while 4x400 finals will be on Sunday at 7:35 p.m.

Charles was an All-Sun Belt performer in the 200 and 400 indoors this season, breaking both school records at the 2017 Sun Belt Championship. She currently holds the indoor school record in the 60-, 200- and 400-meter dashes. Outdoors, she is the Trojan record holder in the 100 and 200 while holding down second place all-time in the 400. She is also on the school-record-holding 4x100 relay team.

While Charles is in the Bahamas, the rest of the Trojans will be in Jonesboro on Friday and Saturday for the Red Wolves Open. Live scoring for that meet can be found online here.
