LITTLE ROCK –
Michael McGruder had one of the best sprinting days in Trojan history, the Trojans won seven events and broke five facility records during the Little Rock Open at the Coleman Sports & Recreation Complex on Friday and Saturday.
Â
McGruder posted one of the greatest sprinting times in Little Rock history, running the 100 in a time of 10.17 seconds. Entering Saturday, that mark places him as the third-fastest 100-meter runner in the nation, moving him up from 17th. That time also improves his second-best mark in program history by 0.15 seconds and breaks the previous Coleman Complex record that he held last year at 10.46.
Â
Also running an impressive 100 was
Dez Mapps, whose time of 10.36 seconds got him second place, the new fifth-fastest time in school history and puts him in the top 20 in the nation so far this year.
Â
Kendrick Dunn was sixth with a time of 10.73, a new personal best by 0.15 seconds.
Cory Martin came in 11th in 11.17 seconds, and
Terance Goodwin was 12th in 11.18 seconds.
Tre' James took 15th in 12.58 seconds.
Â
McGruder followed his 100 performance with a new school record in the 200. Racing to a time of 20.61 seconds, McGruder topped the 12-year-old record of Chris Johnson by a narrow .01 seconds. Mapps came in second with a time of 20.72 seconds, the new third-best time in team history and 0.31 seconds better than he had done outdoors as a Trojan before.
Â
Also in the 200, Dunn blew away his previous personal best by more than half a second, racing to a fifth-place finish in 21.57 seconds and tie for ninth all-time in team history.
Travion Clark took eighth with a time of 21.82 seconds and Ch'kilas Calhoun was 10th in 21.92 seconds.
Â
The Trojans' incredible Saturday started in the 4x100 relay. The Little Rock team of Clark, Mapps, Dunn and McGruder won the race with a time of 40.62 seconds, the new third-best time in team history and a new Coleman Complex record.
Â
Zodani Francois gave the Trojans their second victory of the Saturday track events in the 110 hurdles. Francois bolted across the finish line in 14.39 seconds, breaking his own facility record from last season.
Antonio Coleman was right behind him in second place with a run of 15.26 seconds.

Lalang and Harding's Bartek Kwiecinski were neck-and-neck for the whole race, but Lalang pulled away in the final 200 meters to beat Kwiecinski by less than a second and set a new Coleman Sports & Recreation Complex record.
