LITTLE ROCK – Six members of the Trojan soccer team will be staying local this summer and playing for the Little Rock Rangers of the Women's Premier Soccer League (WPSL).

Joining the Rangers for the summer will be
Camilla Olsson,
Claire Palmer,
Sairra Tucker,
Josie Verslues,
Mikayla Uyokpeyi and
Quin Wilkes. All but Uyokpeyi – who graduated this weekend – will return to the Trojans for the 2017 fall season.

"I'm really pleased for those players who are spending a summer in Little Rock to play with the Rangers," Trojan coach
Adrian Blewitt said. "It's a great way for them to stay in shape and play at a high level which will obviously help them in the fall."

The WPSL is an amateur league that allows its members to retain their college eligibility while gaining valuable playing experience during their college offseason. Team members in the WPSL can be high school, collegiate or post-collegiate players.

The Rangers, whose games are held at War Memorial Stadium, play an eight-game regular season that includes four contests in Little Rock. The Rangers play in the Southeast Conference of the WPSL with teams from Alabama, Tennessee and Florida.

The Rangers' first game of the year will be a home game on May 25 against the Memphis Lobos with kickoff scheduled for 7 p.m. Local fans can also get a chance to see their Trojans playing for the Rangers on June 11, June 17 and June 30. The WPSL Playoffs start on July 15.

Wilkes will return to the Trojans for her senior season already in the top 10 in program history in goals and points. Palmer and Tucker will be true juniors in 2017 while Olsson will be a redshirt junior. Verslues will be a redshirt sophomore with the Trojans in the fall. Uyokpeyi finished her four-year Trojan career after the 2016 season.

The Trojans' 2017 season begins on August 18 when local rival Central Arkansas comes to the Coleman Sports & Recreation Complex for a 7 p.m. kickoff.
