LITTLE ROCK – With the 2017-18 academic year about to get underway, Little Rock head men's basketball coach
Wes Flanigan has announced a number of updates to the Trojans' basketball personnel.
Flanigan has added
Logan Dahms to the staff as the Trojans' Director of Basketball Operations. Dahms, who played his collegiate ball at Covenant College in Georgia, as well as professionally in both Costa Rica and Moldova, comes to Little Rock after spending last season as a video and analytics assistant for the Santa Cruz Warriors of the NBA's Developmental League while also assisting the NBA champion Golden State Warriors.
"When we lost Jon Trilli, my immediate thought was how I could make the staff better," Flanigan said. "We have found that guy in Logan. He has had his hands in so many aspects of basketball as both a player and coach. He has been a strength and condition coach and has five years of experience in four Power Five conferences. His experience with analytics in the NBDL last season with the Santa Cruz Warriors was an added value that I feel can help our program. I'm very excited about our staff moving forward with the addition of Logan."
Along with the hiring of Dahms,
Josh Priola has been promoted to a special assistant as well as remaining the video coordinator. In his second season in Little Rock, Priola brings experience from both TCU and LSU while assisting with day-to-day operations of the program.
"
Josh Priola exemplifies everything about the moniker GRIT that we stand by in our department," Flanigan said. "After one year in our program, he has set an example of what hard work and unselfishness means among our staff. He is your typical first one in and last one to leave kind of person and his promotion is well deserved."
Finally, Flanigan announced that North Little Rock native
Dayshawn Watkins will not be on the Trojans' 2017-18 roster. A transfer from Florida State, Watkins was a first team all-state selection at North Little Rock before spending one season at Holmes Community College.
"After sitting down with Dayshawn for an open dialogue, we have mutually decided that it was best for both parties to move in a different direction at this time," Flanigan said. "Dayshawn has been a model student-athlete for us, earning his bachelors degree from the university. We wish him the best as he moves forward with his future endeavors."
Flanigan and the rest of the Trojans get the 2017-18 season underway on Saturday, November 11th, hosting Ouachita Baptist at the Jack Stephens Center. Season tickets are now on sale by calling (501) 565-8257 or visiting LRTrojans.com. Fans will also have their first chance to meet the 2017-18 Trojans at the Little Rock Trojans Day block party, being held Thursday, August 24th on Third Street in downtown Little Rock outside Dugan's Pub.
