Little Rock returns to action this week, heading to the east coast for the 2017 Pirate Collegiate Classic. The two-day event, hosted by East Carolina, will be held at the Greenville Country Club in Greenville, North Carolina September 25 and 26.
Tournament Information
The 2017 Pirate Collegiate Classic will be a 54-hole event, being held at the Greenville Country Club in Greenville, North Carolina, a par-72, 6,105-yard course. The first two rounds will be held on Monday, September 25, with Little Rock playing with Charleston Southern and Gardner Webb, beginning with a shotgun start at 7:30 a.m. CT. Tuesday's final round will begin with a shotgun start at 7:30 a.m. CT with live scoring of the event available at Golfstat.com.
Tournament Field
Little Rock will be one of 17 teams competing in this week's Pirate Collegiate Classic, comprising a challenging field. The Trojans are one of 12 teams that finished among the GolfStat top-200 in 2016-17, led by host East Carolina's number 56 ranking. Cincinnati (No. 114), Charleston Southern (No. 120), Western Kentucky (No. 131), Gardner Webb (No. 145), Winthrop (No. 154), Appalachian State (No. 163), High Point (No. 169), William & Mary (No. 179), Towson (No. 184) and South Alabama (No. 195) also rank among the top-200, joining Little Rock's number 160 ranking. The Citadel, Longwood, Presbyterian, UNC Asheville and USC Beaufort round out the Pirate Collegiate Classic field.

Bridgett Norwood's squad will return to action for the third time in three weeks as the lineup will consist of a pair of seniors, a pair of juniors and a sophomore, seeking another top-10 finish.

Last Time Out
Little Rock placed seventh overall in its second tournament of year last week at the Marilynn Smith Sunflower Invitational, shooting a 54-over 918. The Trojans closed out the two-day event with a 12-over 300 in round three and were led by
Sabrina Bonanno's 5-over 221, tying for fifth among the individual standings.
Emelie Blennow (8-over 224) finished 13th while
Shania Berger (11-over 227) placed 16th, giving the Trojans three players in the top-20.
Bonanno Starting Strong
Senior
Sabrina Bonanno has paced the Trojans through the first two tournaments of 2016-17, registering a pair of top-10 individual finishes. Bonanno tied for 10th at the Hobble Creek Classic, then tied for fifth at last week's Marilynn Smith Sunflower Invitational, shooting a 221 in both tournaments. Bonanno now has eight career top-10 finishes while her 221s are tied for the second-lowest 54-hole totals of her career.
Looking Ahead
Little Rock's busy start to the 2017-18 comes to a close next week as Little Rock will play in its fourth tournament in as many weeks. The tournament takes the Trojans to Columbia, Missouri for the 2017 Johnie Imes Invitational, being held October 2-4 at Old Hawthorne Country Club.
