ERIE, Colo. – Behind an even-par 576, Little Rock held its own through the opening two rounds of the Mark Simpson Colorado Invitational, sitting tied for sixth among the 20-team field. The Trojans opened the day with a 2-over 290, then posted a 2-under 286 in the afternoon round to sit even after 36 holes.

In the tournament's morning round, Little Rock's 2-over 290 was paced by junior George Scanlon's 1-under 71, finishing at 3-under over the final 15 holes after bogeying two of his first three. Sophomore Logan Pate and freshman Aaron Ramos both recorded an even-par 72 over the opening 18 holes as well as the duo went a combined 3-under over the back nine.

In round two, the Trojans hit key shots across all 18 holes as all five finished 75 or better. That charge was led by freshman Tiago Lobo's 3-under 69, carding birdies on his third, 10th and 11th holes while registering pars on the remaining 15. Junior Justin Warren recorded a 1-under 71 over the afternoon round with Pate and Ramos each posting a 1-over 73.

With 36 holes in the books, Lobo leads the Little Rock scorecard at even-par 144, one shot better than Pate and Ramos' 1-over 145. Scanlon sits fourth at 2-over 146 with Warren at 3-over 147, keeping the Trojans in the hunt among the deep and talented field.

The 2-under 286 moved Little Rock up six spots after the first round standings as the Trojans are tied with UC Riverside for sixth overall. The Trojans are one shot ahead of eighth-place Northern Colorado (1-over 577) while sitting five strokes back of fifth-place Oregon State (5-under 571).

Host Colorado leads the field with at 15-under 561, two shots better than second-place Wyoming (13-under 563). Utah (11-under 565), Air Force (6-under 570) and the Beavers are the five teams sitting under par for the event.

Little Rock's final round gets underway at 9:15 a.m. CT Tuesday as the Trojans will be paired with Oregon State, UC Riverside and Northern Colorado in the final round foursomes, beginning on holes 3-7. Live scoring of the Mark Simpson Invitational is available at Golfstat.com.
