Trojans to Make 2017-18 Debut at North Texas Relays

LITTLE ROCK – A new season is on the horizon for Little Rock swimming and diving as it begins the new year at the North Texas Relays on Friday at 4 p.m., at the Westside Aquatic Center in Lewisville, Texas.

This will be the third consecutive year in which Little Rock has competed at the North Texas Relays. Last season, the Trojans took fourth. This year's competition will include North Texas, SMU, Houston, Oklahoma Baptist and Oklahoma Christian.

"It's always a fun and different way to start the season," Little Rock head coach Amy Burgess said. "The team is ready to race and excited to put their hard work to the test."

The Trojans have continued to grow in the offseason as they'll once again sport their largest roster in program history with 33. During the summer, Little Rock added eight freshmen and one redshirt junior after losing just three seniors to graduation.

"We always look forward to watching our newcomers race and seeing how their training translates into competition," Burgess said. "Our advice is to stay calm, race and enjoy the moment. Our upperclassmen will contest to how fast time goes by."

Once it finishes the North Texas Relays, Little Rock will make its home debut against North Texas on Oct. 14.
