JONESBORO, Ark. – A new school record and several all-time top-10 finishes highlighted Saturday for Little Rock's men's indoor track and field squad at the A-State Invitational & Multis at First National Bank Arena.

The day started on a high note as
Max Holzmueller broke the school record in the heptathlon with a score of 4,690 points. Holzmueller's total was 140 more than the previous record set by Darren Caradine in 2007. After competing in the first four events on Friday, Holzmueller began Saturday had a time of 8.35 in the 55-meter hurdles. He then had a height of 4.15 meters (13' 7.25") in the pole vault — fourth-best in school history. He finished the heptathlon with a winning time of 2:44.89 in the 1000-meter run. He finished the series of events in fourth place.

In the prelims of the 55-meter dash,
Charles Okeze placed fourth with a time of 6.41 — tying Ramon Stewart for the sixth-fastest time in program history.
Keshawn Andrews took fifth at 6.484 seconds while
Travion Clark took sixth at 6.488 seconds.
Ch'kilas Calhoun was the fourth Trojan to qualify for the finals as he finished seventh with a time of 6.51.

In the finals of the 55-meter dash, Andrews placed third and improved upon his time as he came in at 6.42 — tying Michael McGruder for the eighth-fastest in program history. Okeze placed fourth at 6.444 seconds, and Clark took fifth with an improved time of 6.45 seconds — 10th-fastest in program history. Calhoun also improved his finals time to 6.48 and took sixth.

Clark, Calhoun, Okeze and
Jalen Black finished second in the 4 x 400-meter relay with a time of 3:15.80 — the fourth-fastest time in school history. The squad had the seventh-fastest in December at 3:17.44.

Jaelon Gossett finished seventh in the finals of the 55-meter hurdles as he put up a time of 8.15 — the 10th-fastest time in school history.

Noah Smith finished third in the 800-meter run with a time of 1:58.34 — 1.29 seconds off the winning time.
Hunter Tucker finished 10th in 2:02.09 while
Garrett Rokas to 17th in 2:05.61.

Isaac Lalang was the Trojans' top finisher in the one-mile run as he finished seventh with a time of 4:32.69.
Imad Amenzou was just .04 seconds off Lalang and finished eighth.
Emilio Medina took 11th with a time of 4:35.44.

Rogelio Araiza took seventh in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 16:00.83.

Emmanuel Ollie was the Trojans' lone participant in the 400-meter dash and finished 17th with a time of 53.28.

With a very successful weekend in the books, Little Rock will now travel to Birmingham, Alabama, for the South Alabama Invitational on Feb. 4 at the Birmingham Crossplex.
