BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – A handful of top-10 program times and collegiate-best times highlighted the day for Little Rock's women's indoor track and field program at the Jaguar Invitational on Sunday at the Birmingham Crossplex.
Shanieke Watson finished third in the one-mile run with a time of 4:56.84 — the fifth-fastest time in program history.
Hunter Paul and
Vianney Sanchez took 25th and 27th with collegiate-best times of 5:30.50 and 5:31.88, respectively.
Watson took another third-place finish, this time in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:12.78 — the sixth-fastest in school history.
Akeia Joyner was 29th with a season-best time of 2:33.55.
Ka'Neisha Jackson finished 24th in the 60-meter dash with a time of 8:08 — tying Natalia Johnson for the eighth-fastest time in school history.
Brittney Anderson took 27th with a time of 8.20.
Christina Nickerson took 20th in the 200-meter dash with a time of 25.55 — just inside the program's top-10 times. Jackson and
Brittany Pinder-Jones finished 24th and 25th with collegiate-best times of 25.78 and 25.81, respectively.
Paul finished seventh in the 5,000-meter run with a collegiate-best time of 18:43.17.
Hannah Manning placed 13th and crossed the finish line with a season-best time of 19:07.85 while
Vianney Sanchez took 15th with a time of 19:24.40.
Helensia Green was the Trojans' top finisher in the 400-meter dash with a season-best time of 59.03 and finished 18th.
Jessica Gray took 21st with a time of 59.23.
In the long jump,
Nicole Edison came in with a distance of 4.75 meters while
Tyra Gillam had a distance of 4.31 meters.
The Trojans finished the Jaguar Invitational in 10th place with 14 points while Texas State won the meet with 118.75.
Little Rock will finish up the regular season at the Samford February Open beginning on Friday at the Birmingham Crossplex in Birmingham.
